Caring for Your Gown Before the Day

You finally have your Hera Couture gown secured. But it is still a couple of weeks untill your wedding day.

You have either received it from our Flagship, retailers or shipped direct to your door. The below advice will help make sure your perfect gown is taken care of in the days leading up to your special day. 

How to hang and store [if the gown/s and veil are in a garment box]

1.Take the gown out from the tissue paper from the garment box, immediately after the gown arrives.

2. Your gown will have ribbons on the inside top to hang it by. If your gown has shoulder straps, let these hang loose, or rest lightly on top of the hanger. Do not hang your gown just from these. 

3. Place the gown in its garment bag and keep it in there until the day before your wedding. 

4.  Hang the garment bag as high as you can, keep in a dry, shaded/ dark area – not directly in the sun. If hanging is not possible, lying flat on a spare bed is fine.

The day before the wedding day take the gown out from the bag and hang as high as possible to allow for the material to relax. Steam the gown the day before the wedding.

Use the steam press on the lowest setting, hold the steamer head away from the material, letting just the steam flow onto the fabric.
