Our process
We use the finest fabrics, intricate beading, and delicate embellishments to ensure that every gown is a work of art.
Process step one
Every gown begins on paper. Katie sketches each silhouette by hand, working through line and proportion long before a single seam is cut.
Process step two
The pattern is drafted, toiled and refined in our atelier. Each panel is tested on the body so the fit is resolved before the final fabric is touched.
Only once the shape is right does the gown move to construction, where it is cut and sewn by the same hands that shaped it.
Process step three
Final sitches, applique and beads are placed. A single gown can hold hundreds of hours of detailing before it is ready.
Each piece is checked against our quality standards before it leaves the atelier for its bride.

We recommend beginning your Hera journey approximately 9-12 months before your wedding wherever possible. This gives your gown the time it deserves to be created, delivered and professionally altered without unnecessary pressure in the weeks before your wedding.
Our standard made-to-order gowns generally require approximately 6-7 months for creation, while customisations or more intricate bespoke work may require longer.
If your wedding is sooner, please don't assume you are too late. Contact your Hera retailer or our team with your wedding date and the gown you love. We will always explore what may be possible.
Depending on the design, most Hera gowns can be thoughtfully customised. With possibilities including sleeves, straps, necklines, overskirts, trains, fabrications and other design details. Your stylist will guide you through what is technically possible, while preserving the balance, proportion and original integrity of the design so the final result still feels unmistakably Hera and beautifully your own.
Hera gowns are made to order according to our size chart rather than individually made-to-measure. Your stylist will take your measurements carefully and recommend the most appropriate size for you. From there, your gown is created especially for your order before being perfected through alterations closer to your wedding.
For brides whose proportions sit outside our standard size chart, please speak with your Hera retailer. We are proudly size inclusive and can create sizing beyond our standard chart where required.
