Simon and I met on the dating app Bumble! I had been on a string of first dates and was very close to giving up when I matched with him. I knew right from the start that he was trouble (the good kind). He is my favourite person, we have so much fun together.

I had an idea about what I wanted before I went dress shopping. However I made sure to try on all sorts of different dresses and by the time I was at Hera I had a pretty refined idea of what I was looking for. Hera has such a big collection of different dresses and the service was amazing. What drew me to Serana was the structured waist and the glazed mikado fabric. When I put it on it made me feel like a princess and I knew it was the one.

There were so many special parts to the day it’s hard to choose one. I loved seeing all our friends and family come together and just have a great time.

Everyone I worked with at Hera was amazing. The moment you step into the store I felt welcomed. The whole experience from start to finish was such a dream.

Also when I came in for my first fitting I was also trying to pick a veil. The stylist I was working with could see that I was struggling with the options available and recommended one that she was making. This ended up being the one I went with. It is absolutely beautiful and I will treasure it forever! The 3D flowers fit perfectly with the theme of the wedding which was summer garden party.

The day after I had picked my Serana dress I decided I wanted to try and get a mini as well and they quickly accommodated me and allowed me to come in for another fitting before my flight back to Wellington on the same day. I ended up going with the Belle Petite and had it custom made in the Glazed Mikado fabric the same as my ceremony dress. I loved this dress! It allowed me to dance the night away and fit in with my ceremony dress. I got so many compliments.
