My husband, Jack, and I met at a party (nothing special!), and we actually had a terrible first date. We were both so flustered and nervous. Luckily we stuck with it, and after about a month of seeing each other – and a few nights at Rhythm and Vines – we made it official.

Jack loves the outdoors, fishing and hunting, while I love cooking, so we make a pretty great duo. He’s very much the calm to my storm and we’re quite opposite in a lot of ways, which somehow works perfectly.

My wedding gown was a stunning soft tulle two-piece. I had always imagined wearing a bodice-style dress because I liked the idea of being nicely cinched in (as I definitely do not have a flat tummy!). It was so nice not feeling like I had to suck in all day. It made me feel like a fairy princess – I just loved the softness of the tulle. I tried on lots of dresses, but I found the Hera gowns the most flattering by far. Some of the other dresses I tried at different stores felt like they were designed for tall, very slim models and just didn’t sit quite right on me. The Hera gowns, on the other hand, felt beautiful and flattering straight away.

We actually had torrential rain for most of the day (and it was an outdoor wedding!), but all of our guests brought such amazing energy and vibes. Being in one place with all of our favourite people despite the weather felt incredibly special.

I absolutely loved my experience with Hera. From the very beginning it felt seamless and positive, and the stylists had such incredible energy. Everything felt easy and possible, and I couldn’t get over how helpful everyone was. It truly couldn’t have been a better experience.
