Fran + Andrew

I’m Fran! I am a registered nurse and Andrew is my now husband and he is a plumber. We are both in very male/female dominating jobs and so met online as most people do these days. We have been together 5 years and the day of our wedding was our 5 year anniversary! We got engaged in Turkey watching the stunning hot air balloon rise and it was the most magical proposal ever!

I actually customised my wedding gown. So it has the Isabella top and the Francois skirt but got to keep the length of the Isabella! I did this because I am a curvy girl and I found that the original skirt on the Isabella made my hips look wider than I already was and I didn’t want to have a huge ball gown look. I chose this gown because the off the shoulder top is absolutely divine! It accentuates your shoulders and collar bones which as my hairstylist says “every woman has a beautiful collar bone”. It had a small V where you can show off a bit of cleavage but still be modest. The length of the skirt also gave me butterflies, it truly made me feel like royalty! It made me feel so beautiful and it is a feeling that I truly don’t feel often so I am so grateful Katie and her lovely team at Hera Couture in Auckland for making me feel so beautiful every time I stepped foot in their store!

I’m just absolutely obsessed with Hera Couture! Hera was recommended to me by another friend of mine and she is also a curvaceous girl like me. As soon as I tried the first dress on I was confident that Hera couture was going to be the place I got my dress from! I didn’t even look anywhere else. My stylist Jackie was so lovely! She saw me every single time I had an appointment and she just remembered everything! I always feared I would get to the shop and they would pick a sample dress that was too small for me and I would feel even more embarrassed but these girls see you and know straight away what size you will need to try on. So professional and so lovely!
