Jordana and Justin

Churchill Events

When Justin and I got engaged we were super overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. However, we knew we wanted to get married in Victoria - that’s when we came across Churchill Events and our search was over.

Churchill is set in the town of Taradale, in regional Victoria, and is a unique event space which has all the features of an old Church (originally built in 1858) – grand timber ceilings, detailed stained glass windows, and even a choir loft. The two magnificent ladies who own the venue, also helped out with flowers, catering and coordination on the day. Since I wasn’t using an event planner, having a vendor that did multiple things with one contact point, was amazing.

The venue was where I got my inspiration for my dress. With such a moody and romantic location, I felt the gown needed to be whimsical, floral and classic. I tried on many, and loved the process, but there was one moment where I can recall turning around to see my mother and bridesmaids in tears. It was a gown from Hera Couture. I loved the plunging neckline of the Galan, with flower applique on the bodice, but I also loved the flowing chiffon skirt of another Hera dress. So I asked… What if we put these two together? The girls at Bluebell Bridal pinned me into the two dresses and voila! My dream dress!

Now the next step, asking Hera Couture if it was possible – gulp.

Bluebell bridal assured me they had a great relationship with Hera Couture and asked if it was possible – and I’m so glad they did because my perfect dress was already in the works as a new style. It felt pretty special being one if the first brides in this ‘custom’ dress and I felt so beautiful on the wedding day, it was truely magical and I can never thank Hera Couture enough for that.
