Henry & I met on a “girl’s night out” where I was the only one who didn’t know it was a set-up. We spent the evening awkwardly talking in front of my 2 friends but it all worked out because we started dating a month later! 5 years on, we bought our first home and welcomed our dog Ari who we both love to bits. Around our 7 year-mark, Henry realised he was turning 30 and wanted to get married before that so I started planning a wedding – a very non-traditional proposal! Followed by a lovely, romantic proposal 5 months later with a ring we made together.
I love Vivienne because of her classic and feminine style – the fitted bodice and full skirt have a really romantic feeling while the slit and pockets give it a modern twist. I also love the versatility of the sash – you can tie it in a bow off-the-shoulder or under your arms so it’s like having 2 looks with one dress. I couldn’t imagine getting married in anything else! I’ve never had a “dream dress”, all I knew was I wanted to feel comfortable (it’s a long day!) and look great so I tried a bunch of styles which I’d highly recommend as you never know what you might fall in love with. I’d also recommend bringing someone you trust – if you’re indecisive like me, having an honest opinion is definitely a must. Funnily enough, Vivienne was the one I kept coming back to and that’s how I knew it was the one for me.
Our ceremony was my favourite part of our day. There’s something so lovely and intimate about sharing your love for one another in front of all your loved ones – we both cried and laughed and it was wonderful. Our dog Ari also got to be there which made it even better!
