“The ceremony dress 🤍 This was the first dress I tried on when visiting Hera Couture an appointment I was so excited for after I saw them in Together Journal. It was so different, more than anything I had tried on before. It came strapless but we decided to create our own soft off the shoulder sleeves for the ceremony that could easily be popped on and off for a little something extra. The train was a couple metres long along with the veil that we also got designed. It originally was a long train and we added the blusher which I loved for that extra traditional take on it. I read that it means angels are protecting you as you walk up the aisle which I loved so much. I changed the sleeves for the reception which you will see soon and then went fully strapless for the dance floor!”
“The ladies at Hera Couture were amazing to deal with and so so lovely, making all my bridal dress dreams come true 🤍 I also got told I was the first bride in New Zealand to wear this style of dress too which felt very special! Tip for future brides— I originally thought I’d go for something super simple and sleek like Meghan Markle style but once I saw this and tried it on I was sold! So always try everything on cause you never know until you see it on yourself.”
“The reception dress 🤍 For a while I was contemplating getting a completely different dress to change into for the reception but after a bit of thought I came to the realisation that I only get to wear this dress for one day so I wanted to wear it as long as possible, so instead I changed the sleeves that this dress came with. The long sleeves added a little more fun for the dance portion of the night which I loved! They were super comfy as well so bonus.. I removed my veil to feel a little more free and then for the dance party I removed the sleeves completely and went fully strapless which meant I felt even more free to move and dance around. Before the dancing began my bridesmaids and mum helped tuck my dress up with its bustle so the train wasn’t getting tripped on through all the twirls and spins and it was amazing how all of that fabric just disappeared into a little nook at the bottom of the dress.”
“The ladies at @heracouture walked us through everything — how to put the dress on correctly which took a couple of us and how to tie the bustle with a little video so we could re watch it the night of (thank goodness for that by the way!) Highly recommend the beautiful ladies there, Katie Yeung is such a talented designer and her brand is expanding throughout the world, how lucky are we to have her in our country 🤍”
