My experience with Hera Couture, particularly Saina and the team was beyond perfect. I trusted…
Read MoreHera Couture has been part of the Karangahape Rd community for 10 years, so we thought it was about time we celebrated where we live! K’rd (as it is affectionately called by Kiwis) is one of New Zealand’s most iconic streets. It started as Auckland’s main shopping area from the 1900’s and evolved into our most well known red light district by the 1970’s. Today, it is home to diverse communities and eclectic businesses.
Influenced by the heritage buildings and quirky characters of K’rd, it was the perfect backdrop to showcase Katie’s newest designs. While shooting, our models were congratulated on their big day from rooftops and barstools and we were even caught in the middle of a silent disco. It is this youthful and playful feel Katie wanted to capture: the happy couple taking time out in the city and being part of this crazy life – because the world goes on even when we’re getting married!
Luc was groomed by the experts at Colleen before heading up to the Hereford Residence’s penthouse apartment – with its spectacular views and chic surroundings. We then wandered the streets, explored alleys and climbed to the roof of carparks.
On the way we stopped at Forte Green for lunch (the best toasties EVER), called into St Kevin’s Arcade for a touch of shopping, and finished the evening with a glass of bubbles at Love Bucket Bar. We can’t thank Laura enough for choosing the perfect music and creating such a warm atmosphere. It’s definitely our new fave!
Wheeling gown racks through roadworks and up hills had its challenges but we couldn’t be happier with the beautiful, spirited shots we captured on our day out on Karangahape Rd. The history of the area combined with its touch of unconventional, perfectly encapsulates the vision of Hera Couture.
